Where did the name “Nicki Idol” come from? 
In 2008 I worked in a restaurant and my manager couldn’t pronounce my actual surname. As I wasn’t the only “Nicki” working at the restaurant, she called us by our surnames. But because she couldn’t pronounce it, she called me Nicki Idol.

How long have you been doing music?
When haven’t I been doing music?! It wasn’t until I was about 12 years old that I started singing in public, but I have always been writing and producing from the moment I got my hands on my dad’s old keyboard. It wasn’t until I was about 17 or 18 that I got pretty serious about it. I’ve done gigs, been on the radio, been interviewed and all sorts. It’s amazing!

You were signed to an indie label?
Oui! I gave them £800 and my best track and then they f*cked off. They still have my track up on iTunes, but if you want to show ME support as an artist, you can download my version by clicking here.
